Engines fitted with regulated 3-way catalytic converters are equipped with a computerized closed-loop feedback fuel injection system using one or more oxygen sensors (also known as Lambda Sonds or sensors).
Namely, it replaces the rear axle-back and tips and then a portion of what we refer to as the mid-pipes. This system is emissions friendly and doesn’t require any tuning.
You also need to be careful when tightening the bolts on the cat back. Over-tightening can damage the system, so just make sure they're tight enough to hold everything in place.
It is called a "catback" system because it starts at the catalytic converter, which is located in the middle of the exhaust system, and continues to the tailpipe.
